    Answer: Scratchbord is easier to scratch into for clean, crisp details and lines.

    Answer: Unwanted scratch marks are repairable by simply reapplying India ink or Ampersand Scratchbord Claybord Black Repair Ink.
  • Question: Can I add color to my Scratchbord art?

    Answer: Yes, you can add vibrant color to your Scratchbord art with inks.
  • Question: How many pieces do the scratchboard come with?

    Answer: You get one 18x24" piece.
  • Question: Is this board 16x20 like it says or 12x16 like the image says?

    Answer: This board is a 16x20 as the description states.
  • Question: What do you recommend to seal for these with?

    Answer: I use a satin finish archival spray. Many people use a glossy finish archival spray. Four coats. Let them dry in between. Shake the can well before you start and always do a test spray before you go to your art piece.
  • Question: Is the bottom layer paper or foil?

    Answer: The board is a hard surface with a layer of India ink over the white clay board. Does not bend or crack like clay on a paper or foil surface.
  • Question: Does this product only consist of one scratchboard per order?

    Answer: Yes, these are sold individually.

    Answer: No, it is not possible to order a custom scratchboard.
  • Question: Are the boards outlined for scratching the art?

    Answer: No, the boards are blank and you transfer your image onto it before scratching. You can trace an image onto the board using gray or white transfer paper.
  • Question: Can you use watercolor paint on the scratched off part? What about using copic markers?

    Answer: Copic markers work, but watercolor paint does not work on the scratched off part of a scratch board.
