The Spyder Print is a device for creating printer profiles that can produce good ICC profiles, but requires an enormous amount of patience and double-checking, re-checking, and do-overs. The sticky and poor guide and housing materials create difficulties in making a clean profile. Several users have reported connectivity problems, buggy software, and useless results. On the other hand, many customers have found the Spyder Print capable of producing dramatic changes in custom profile creation; it has made prints much better with fine-tuning colors and tones, making it worth the $350 price if you want to make higher quality prints. Complaints of the Spyder Print include that the unit-generated totally inaccurate profiles, and the software was buggy on some Mac devices. The plastic guide rail the scanner moves along does not fit very well, and users have to gently maneuver it to avoid having the base touch any part of the sample. In all, the Spyder Print has mixed reviews from users.
