Answer: Hell no...99 % of heads are never leather..unless maybe you get a calftone special specific head..no drum is coming purchased that way..unless u spend some $ & change it yourself after u get it.. -

Answer: No. The hex tom rod doesn't go in to the shell. It's short enough that it butts up to tom receiver if you need it to. If you need a longer rod, those are available from Yamaha as well. -
