  • Question: Any suggestion for protecting palms in winter?

    Answer: We used them to protect our oleanders.Temperature got down to mid 20s, still froze them to the ground.
  • Question: I've seen some mixed reviews about it keeping the plant from dying in the fall or winter, so does it keep the plants warm enough?

    Answer: The first year it seemed to work well. So we bought more. But when we used it last winter, for some reason any plant or bush that was covered became brown and some died. We won't use it this year.
  • Question: Can you use this product wrapped around the plant all winter long? The plant I want to protect wants to start growth in early spring & then freezes

    Answer: May depend on where you live. I doubt this fabric would do much to protect during a cold winter climate. It's very light-weight and meant to protect from the occasional frosts or one-night freeze, in southern, warmer climates.
  • Question: What is the height of the 10' round cover?

    Answer: The 10' round cover is just that......a circle of fabric 10' in diameter with a drawstring around outside. It is very lightweight fabric. They do make a rectangular shaped one I may have to modify for my plant. I'm in central Texas and that has worked for several years.
  • Question: Up to what temperature can it protect to?

    Answer: I don’t know what temperature it protects to but it will usually give you an extra 5 to 10 degrees above the actual temp.
  • Question: I have a round raised keyhole garden. Would the 10' circular flatten out to cover a 6-7' diameter round raised bed?

    Answer: Yes. It comes flat with a 'pull rope' to tighten.
  • Question: How hot does it get in the cover during winter?

    Answer: Clearly that's a question of how much sun the cloth is exposed to and how long the sun hits it. This is dark woven material that is somewhat porous, but still its dark and it will get warm underneath. I would NOT leave the cover on for extended time when there is no danger of deep freeze for fear of stimulating the plant to think that spring has arrived.
  • Question: Is this a solar cover?

    Answer: No it just protects against frost
