The Sony HTX8500 Soundbar is a budget-friendly soundbar option that can be connected to a TV via eARC/ARC HDMI or Optical cable. Even though it is not a true Dolby Atmos soundbar, it does a great job of simulating it. The overall sound quality is decent and is perfect for small rooms. However, the remote is tiny, and the buttons are not that distinguishable, which can be frustrating when trying to adjust the various sound settings. The soundbar comes with a ton of presets that work well and offer various sound modes such as night mode, but it is not ideal for everyday TV watching. Customers have reported issues with the soundbar forgetting its input mode when idle for more than 12 hours, but reselecting the input on the remote will fix this.
