| Care and maint | Clean the wound prior to applying a dressing. The dressing should overlap the wound bed by at least 2cm onto the surrounding skin. Select the closest size dressing and then cut to fit your wound bed. Remove one side of the film backing and apply that side of the dressing to the wound. Remove the other film backing and apply that side. Ensure proper adhesion by applying light pressure across the dressing. Cover with a secondary dressing according to your exudate level. Mepilex Foam Dressing can be left on for up to 7 days, depending on your exudate level and directions from your doctor. The secondary dressing you choose may need to be changed daily. Consult your healthcare professional to select the right duration for you. |
