The Lewmar 6657011967-311 Kit - Pro-Series 1000 6Mm-7Mm-14" stone is a great option for sharpening knives. It has a similar hardness to the Shapton Kuramaku stones but with a finer grit. The stone feels very nice, especially with a little slurry on the surface, and works best with a slight slurry stirred up. It has not loaded up at all, even after being used for two knives so far. This stone is a great choice for beginners who don't want to spend too much on the older Chosera, which is the same stone but 10 mm larger and more expensive.
