  • Question: In Japan can the hand be used as a knife?

    Answer: In Japan, the hand can be used as a knife... but, this method doesn’t work with a tomato!
  • Question: What is the difference between the 12 pc set 07132 and the 12 pc set 07112? The 07112 is $17 more.

    Answer: I've been studying the description on both sets and damned if I know what the difference. I did notice that 07112 is 3 oz. heavier than the 07132, so I'm going to take a wild guess and suggest the difference could be in the steel used to produce the knives. Again, that is just speculation because they're both rust RESISTANT, take note of that, as much as I love my set, they will discolor/rust. It's not as if you can just dip them and quickly dry them, mine stay in dish water, but not for long. I learned my lesson; they are not rust PROOF.
  • Question: dishwasher safe?

    Answer: Always hand wash fine knives and towel dry. outting something that sharp in a dishwasher is not a good idea.
  • Question: Dimensions for the wooden block?

    Answer: Roughly 8 in. high x 7-1/2 in.wide x 6 in. deep.
  • Question: Are there extra slots in the block? I want to purchase the bread knife as well and would like to store it with the rest.

    Answer: There is only one extra slot that fits the knife which you see in the picture that is not in the block like the others.
  • Question: Is the santoku ok for lefties?

    Answer: This is a great questions. I own the knife set and am a Righty. I know they say there is a slight difference that is favored to a Righty in knifes. I personally do not believe it is true from this knife set. I believe that it was sharpened in a non hand preferential way. I would imagine the normal wear and tear would favor which ever side used it. As well as if you had a butcher steal and know how to use it to maintain the blade this could potentially assist over time. Hope this helps.
  • Question: where are they made ?

    Answer: I am not sure, we bought them as a gift so I can't look. They did love them! Their friends also bought a set.
  • Question: Are the steak knives forged steel?

    Answer: I have no idea how to even tell. all i can tell you is that they are very nice steak knives and they cut fantastically.
