The Proxxon rotary tool has received mixed reviews from its customers. Some users found it to be excellent for light sanding in a cool environment or grinding and polishing aluminum, while others noted that it was not powerful enough and overheated quickly. The tool's variable speed function is useful but may fail easily. The 2" wheel size allows for tight work, but it quickly wears down, which requires frequent changes. The hex screw attachment for changing the wheel is somewhat difficult to use, and the little screw/plate does not secure the wheel correctly when cutting steel. The housing gets very hot when running at the highest RPM, making it hard to hold. The accessories are expensive, rare, and have short life spans, making it not very useful. A few customers had durability issues with the product.
