DREO All Portable Air Conditioners Editorial Review
The Dreo 12000 BTU SACC Air Conditioner is a portable air conditioner that is both cooling and a dehumidifier, with an inverter that adjusts the compressor and fan based on the cooling requirement. It comes with a remote control that can be used like a remote thermostat. One customer found it a little bigger than anticipated but still installed it easily in a sliding glass door using self-made cardboard spacers. The product worked well in their bedroom and bathroom, which were more than 400 sq. ft. The sound is also quiet, and the cooling effect good. It has a sleep mode which can control the temperature well and is very comfortable. However, it would have been nice to have enough spacers for a sliding glass door and if it was smaller it would be better. Another customer found that the implementation of the inverter was glitchy, inConsistent in ramping up to full power and would sometimes jump to full blast. The remote control also seemed meant for another machine with indicators for functions the model didn't have, making it unable to work as the thermostat.
