    Answer: The main ingredients in each soap base is generally - coconut oil, palm oil, safflower oil, glycerin (kosher, of vegetable origin), purified water, sodium hydroxide, sorbitol, propylene glycol (made from vegetable glycerin), sorbitan oleate (emulsifier), oat protein. Though each soap base type has an added special ingredient (such as shea butter etc.)
  • Question: What is the complete list of ingredients for each soap base? I'm not comfortable purchasing anything without knowing the list of ingredients.

    Answer: Our soap base does not contain lye at this current stage. Though lye was added in the beginning to create the soap, as it's impossible to make soap without adding this ingredient. However after the chemical reaction of saponification has occurred, there is no more lye left in the soap base and it's totally safe to handle and use. Pifito Melt and Pour Soap Base Sampler is a desirable product. It comes in a pack of seven one-pound soap bases including Argan Oil, Avocado Oil, Castor Oil, Charcoal, Tea Tree Oil, Goats Milk, Aloe Vera. Even though the main ingredients are almost the same, each type of soap base has an additional special ingredient. The product was easy to cut into squares, melted well, and has a good sudsing effect. However, some users complained that the soap is waxy and sticky, and won’t last long. The soap is mild or has no scent, but it is easy to customize with other additives such as aromatic essential oils and herbs. It also has a beautiful sheen when taken out of the mold. One customer complained of a mix-up with an order, but she still finds the product desirable. Overall, Pifito Melt and Pour Soap Base Sampler is a great quality and easy to work with soap making supply.
