Answer: I just got through my last bottle but I recall that it is gluten free. I am unsure, however, if it contains rice or soy protein. -

Why is there a warning that this product contains lead and other chemicals that could cause cancer?
Answer: I order Desert Essence shampoos and conditioners for my wife, who is allergic to almost everything in the world, and this is the only brand she could use; and right now, examining the tube, I do not see any warning about lead in the Desert Essence. Where do you see it? If you do - please share with us - with everyone, so we are in the know. Maybe you could share a photo of that part of the warning? -

Answer: Yes, it’s fabulous and scrumptious! I have highlights and it keeps them very smooth. Enjoy! -

There's a difference between regular desert essence products and organics. why is this product not labeled organics when others are?
Answer: But this is obvious, ins't it? Befcause there is at least one component that is not organic... -

Can you Apply on scalp. Does it make it greasy?
Answer: Yes, I was hair and scalp thoroughly, apply the Desert Essential conditioner, and rinse after about 5-10 min. No greasy residue and hair left soft and smooth. Love. -

Is this color safe?
Answer: I don't know as I do not color my hair. -
Question:
Has anyone had an allergic reaction after using this conditioner? I had a rash on my chest, arms and back after using it.
Answer: I used both the shampoo and conditioner with no problems. We can develop allergic reactions to ingredients that we never had a problem with in the past. Best wishes.

Desert Essence Italian Red Grape Conditioner has a scent that is meant to be mango but some customers claim it smells more like rotten grapefruit. This conditioner is sulfate-free and not tested on animals. Although it's not labeled organic, most of its components are organic. It's ideal for dry, color treated hair, making it soft, silky and manageable. It has a lovely light lemon smell and many customers use it in conjunction with the Desert Essence Coconut Shampoo. The conditioner is gluten-free, but one customer developed a rash after using it. It's said to tame frizz, but the results aren't long-lasting.
