It can hold at the beach with 25ft/7.6m of rope or at sea with 7ft of rope for every foot of water depth. The anchor is not recommended for larger boats, and a 4lb (minimum) fluke style anchor should be used for an 18ft/5.5m catamaran that weighs 500 pounds fully rigged and loaded for sailing. The Cooper Anchor is lightweight and made of nylon, meaning there is no rust, chipping paint, or heavy anchor to lug around. It has been used successfully in beach sand and muddy river bottoms with a little tugging to release from the muck. The plastic anchor is easy to carry and comes with no bag, making it easy to transport and store in limited spaces.
