Lionel is famous for being an O scale pioneer, and O scale is about twice the size of HO scale, with a ratio of model to real being 1:48 in O scale and 1:82 in HO scale. The train has a DC power pack that plugs into an outlet, and the track is not sturdy or easy to connect, so it is recommended to use Bachmann’s Snap Track and power supply instead. Some customers faced several derailments and had difficulty keeping the loco attached to the tender. The sound effects through the speaker in the tender are good, and the Bluetooth connection with the handheld remote works well, but some customers faced difficulty connecting with their phones via Bluetooth. The wheels of the engine are not very good, and several customers had issues with wheels breaking off the engine. The train does not have smoke in the HO version and there is no Magnalock track in the set.
