The FIDECO USB 3.0 Dual Hard Drive Docking Station can work with Linux and macOS 10.15 and higher, but only one computer can be backed up at a time. The unit cannot erase password-protected drives. For a traditional HDD, read and write speeds should be generally the same as with onboard SATA, but may be impacted over USB. It may not reach full throughput. The device is best for archiving and the enclosure can also be used for video editing. However, for gaming, an enclosure with an eSATA connection would be optimal.
