The Hasegawa Mikasa Battleship Model Kit is a 1/700 scale plastic model kit that requires painting and assembly. The instructions are available in English and Japanese. The model kit offers good value for the price, and once built with care and patience, rewards with a beautiful reproduction of the Japanese Battleship. The kit offers good detail at an excellent price point. The deck is molded but does have lines simulating wood planks, albeit not to scale. Hasegawa quality is a standout feature. However, it still lacks some detail compared to other 1/700 ships available in the market. Some customers reported that the factory plastic wrap damaged several of the gun barrels that needed to be fabricated themselves to complete the kit.
