While the handle is not full tang, it is riveted in and about 4 inches long. The hawk comes with a solid Secur-ex sheath for storage, but it is not suitable for rapid deployment or easy carry. The sheath is not molle compatible, but it can be attached to molle webbing on a pack. The hawk is made of drop forged 1055 carbon steel. It is easy to make a new handle for the hawk if needed, as the heads are designed for slip friction fit. In terms of weight, it is slightly heavier than other hawks on the market. Overall, it offers excellent value for the price.
