Customer Questions & Answers
-
Question:
Will these lighs flex at all? I want to mount two vertically on the back of my van but the body is not perfectly flat there.
Answer: No, they are hard plastic best for flat or even surfaces. -
Question:
Cannot tell the brake light from the tail light?
Answer: There are three wires on that light. White = ground, Black = tail light, and Red = brake light. The light will go even brighter when the RED wire is connected to the positive, indicating a brake light. -
Question:
Won't work on my 6-pin connector. The car supplies +12v for tail lights or turn lights (and works fine), but supplies -12v for brake (to l&r). Any ideas?
Answer: I determined which wire was the tail light and which was the signal on my trailer, then connected the left side to the bar light and did the same for the right side. -
Question:
Is there a fix to improve the difference between the running and brake/signal light? They look awful.
Answer: If wired right, they should look pretty darn good. Remember they are LED lights, so your running lights will be brighter. -
Question:
I will be installing on our golf cart. Do I need to have a brake pedal pad installed on the golf cart for this to work?
Answer: If you have brake lights already, then this can replace them or be tied into the existing 'brake hot' line. How do you activate your brake lights now? -
Question:
What is wrong if it comes on with the lights or just hitting the brake, but I see no difference when lights are on and I hit the brake?
Answer: Usually everything goes through the headlight switch. Check your wiring diagrams to see what wires need to be tied into. There is probably a circuit with a brake pedal switch and running lights that go through the headlight switch. -
Question:
What keyword should I type in YouTube to learn how to cut and connect the wires?
Answer: I would try 'trailer wiring' as a keyword. -
Question:
Do these function as reverse lights also?
Answer: No, these do NOT function as reverse lights. -
Question:
Can I use them on a boat deck?
Answer: Yes, as long as it is 12 volt or rated for what the lights are recommended. They must be displayed as required by your law. -
Question:
Can these be used to legally replace tail lights on a car? Original tail lights are no longer available.
Answer: I believe they would be legal, but what I found after installing these on a utility trailer is that there is not much difference in brightness between the park and brake light functions. There must be other lights of this type that would be even better.
