Can wheels be added to the bottom of this base?
Answer: This file base is not designed to use casters. -
Question:
The draws are rated for up to 60 pounds. Is that per draw so can the set of 5 draws hold up to 300 pounds? I want to store tools in the unit.
Answer: Flat files like this are designed to hold sheets of paper, mylar, illustration board etc. I would not recommend storing tools in it because it is not strong enough. -

How do you stack these?
Answer: These flat files can stack up to 4 high. There is a rubber grip that keeps it from sliding around. -

What is the manufacturer's product or model number?
Answer: This is item 4972LG. -
Question:
Will this base fit safco model 4994 flat file?
Answer: No, 4970 can only be used with 4969LG. -
Question:
Can I use this with a 24x36 Mayline flat file?
Answer: The base has flanges that stick up and would not match the Mayline flat file. -
Question:
How is this packaged and how difficult is it to set up?
Answer: The base came separately and was easy to set up. The flatfile itself was wrapped in cardboard and set on a pallet. I needed to have 2 guys move it into my studio from my driveway (where the truck left it ) into position on top of the base. There is some packing inside the case you need to take out and the wire bars need to be installed, but all that was easy and there were good instructions for everything. I have been very happy with the files.
