View LessThe Golden Acryl Med 8 Oz Crackle Paste is a good product that works as intended. It can be used on polymer clay both before or after it is baked. However, it is not suitable for use on existing oil paintings. The size of the cracks can be manipulated by adjusting the amount of paste applied, but applying too thick of a layer may cause the product to break off when it dries. For the best cracking pattern, it is recommended to allow the paste to dry first before painting over it. It is not effective in creating a crackle effect on surfaces that have been decoupaged. The paste can be mixed with acrylic paints to achieve a colored crackle effect. Watercolor paints can also be used, but they may soak in a lot. Each 8 oz jar of crackle paste can cover approximately 1 and 1/2 canvases of size 18x20.
