Set the dial to run. Press the manual button and then select the outlet you want to use (123 or 4). Then select run time by pressing + button until you reach the required run time.

Is the rain sensor optional - will it work without one?

Yes, it is optional. The timer will function fully without the rain sensor, meaning it will not miss a watering session even if it is raining. All the unused ports have rubber plugs to keep the rain out.

Do you need an outside plug for electricity for the timer?

No, this timer only uses batteries and does not require an external electricity source. It uses two AA batteries, which are included.

Where can I buy 2 extra solenoid valves?

How are the 10volt solenoid valves powered if the controller runs on two AA batteries which is only 3 volts?
