Koller Products Replacement Filter Cartridges are designed to provide chemical, biological, and mechanical filtration. The cartridge has a mixture of mechanical and chemical media with the exterior providing mechanical filtration while the interior provides chemical filtration. Beneficial bacteria also colonize on the filter cartridge, providing biological filtration. When replacing a soiled filter cartridge, biological filtration starts again, however, the established bacteria colony living on the aquarium gravel, ornaments, plants and walls will remain unaffected. These cartridges come in a box of three and are 2.25 L x .5 W x 5 H Inches in size, specifically designed for Koller filters KC10. Customers have been delighted with the quality of these filters, with many stating that they work exceptionally well, keeping their aquariums clean and clear. The filter cartridges are cost-effective and work as expected. However, some customers have reported issues with sizing, with some needing an extra small cartridge instead of a small one, which resulted in folding or making the filter manageable.
