Yupik Wheat Berries Editorial Review
Yupik Organic Kernels, Spelt, 2.2 lb is a high-quality hulled spelt grain grown in Canada. Although it has an earthy smell that may be unfamiliar to those not used to ancient grains, it should not be unpleasant. It has a nutty and slightly sweet taste and plumps up when cooked, although the size and shape of the grain are different than rice. It is firmer and a bit chewy, making it a great alternative to rice in salads or as an accompaniment for saucy dishes. Customers have commented that they use it in Ezekiel bread, salad, and even homemade dog treats as it grinds into flour very nicely. They have praised the product's quality and taste, and the fact that everything they have purchased from the company is fresh, well-packaged, and has appropriate expiration dates. However, some customers have mentioned that the price seems a bit high for the amount received.
