Equinox Casual Daypacks Editorial Review
**** The Equinox Parula Ultralite Day Pack is carving out a reputation as one of the foremost ultralight packs available, weighing in at a mere 7 ¾ ounces. Its mesh back design provides excellent ventilation, significantly reducing the discomfort of a sweaty back that often accompanies traditional backpacks. Reviewers have noted that the mesh also offers improved traction against clothing, which is a valuable feature for active users. This pack seems to cater well to casual outdoor enthusiasts and city commuters alike. Many users found it spacious enough to accommodate essentials such as drinks, lunch, and even a laptop. The dual water bottle holders are a thoughtful addition, comfortably fitting larger bottles like the 32 oz. Nalgene. Some users appreciate the pack's versatility, noting its ability to pack down into the hood pocket for easy storage. However, while the pack earns high marks for comfort and versatility, there is a noted trade-off in durability. Some reviews pointed to issues such as seam rips after less than a year of regular use and general concerns about the overall sturdiness of the materials. Despite these concerns, the pack has proven reliable for day hikes and airport carry-ons, albeit with a cautionary note regarding its strength when heavily loaded. While missing a sternum strap, which is deemed essential by some users, the pack does allow for customization, as the removable waist belt can be repurposed for this function. Overall, the Equinox Parula offers notable advantages in lightweight design and comfort, but potential buyers should be aware of its limitations in terms of robustness. **
