Musicals Editorial Review
"Lady Sings the Blues" is a biopic movie that tells the story of jazz legend Billie Holiday. The movie features great acting performances from Diana Ross, Richard Pryor, and Billy Dee Williams. While some reviewers found the movie to be a romantic and sanitized version of Holiday's life, others appreciated the biographical aspect of the movie, shedding some light on the legend's struggles with addiction and the dark side of performance life. Overall, the movie is well-liked by viewers, with many stating that it's one of their favorites. The movie is available on Blu-ray, but some reviewers found the video quality to be only decent, with noticeable grain. The audio was also found lacking, with some saying that it needed remixing and mastering. However, these issues didn't seem to detract from the overall enjoyment of the movie.
